GOLDEN GLOVE REPAIR
“Golden Glove Repair”
CARING FOR YOUR GLOVE
Our services include the following steps regardless if we are relacing your entire glove or just performing a single lace repair.
Our service typically take between 3-5 days to complete depending on individual glove, and great care is used in the return shipping process.
Below is a basic list of things to help keep the gloves in great condition.
CARING FOR YOUR GLOVE - ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Caring for your glove - Do's and Don'ts
Don't -
Spit in your glove - The acid in your saliva will ruin the leather!
Leave your glove in the rain or the hot car - continued moisture and heat will dry out your glove, especially in direct sunlight!
Bake your glove in the oven or microwave - (unless you plan on eating it)
Dunk your glove in anything - any excess liquid will either make your glove heavy, or dry it out
Do -
Wipe your glove down after each use to remove dirt and sweat
Wipe with a rag and a little warm water - do not soak
Wipe off with a towel and let dry at room temperature - this will help prevent excess sweat from damaging your glove
Wrap a baseball inside and put away - this will help it keep its shape
Routine Maintenance -
Clean your glove regularly - Use a rage with warm water - do not soak - let air dry
Condition your glove occasionally - Use a good glove conditioner (preferably a paste), and apply lightly - do not over oil (ask for advice if you are unsure)
Tighten Laces
Re-Tie Knots - (I use no glue on my knots because it is natural for the lace to become loose and the knots occasionally need to be re-tied. Knots that will not come undone, or are too tight, will damage the glove.)
Replace worn or damaged laces
Do not play with a damaged glove! This can further damage the glove and may also cause injury!
